Meet Dr. Chea Rainford

Dr. Rainford is the kind of dentist who explains every step in plain language. If you have a question about whether you really need that crown, you will get a direct answer with the trade-offs laid out. If your child is nervous, he and the team will take the extra ten minutes to make the chair feel less intimidating. With more than 15 years practicing dentistry in Georgia, he has seen the same Clarkdale families across generations: kids who came in for first cleanings now bringing in their own children.
A look at his training and credentials:
- DMD, Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry (Augusta, GA)
- BS Chemistry, University of West Georgia
- Post-graduate training in prosthodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, and endodontics
- More than 15 years practicing dentistry in Georgia
- Fellow, International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI)
- Member, American Dental Association (ADA)
- Member, Georgia Dental Association (GDA)
- Member, North Georgia Dental Society
- Member, Academy of General Dentistry
- Member, Hinman Dental Society

- Lifetime member, American Orthodontic Society
- Lifetime member, Medical College of Georgia Alumni Association
- Licensed dentist, State of Georgia; BLS certified
Outside the office, Dr. Rainford is involved in his local church and volunteers with several charities alongside his wife. He is a longtime Falcons and Braves fan and plays soccer and cricket from his school days. The practice culture reflects the Clarkdale pattern of long-running neighborhood relationships: many of the team members have been with the practice for years, so the face that greets you at check-in is usually the same face you saw at your last visit.
Where We Are and How Far You'll Drive
From the Clarkdale Mill Village Historic District, the drive to our office is roughly fifteen minutes. From homes nearer the Sweetwater Valley Library or Old Clarkdale Park, slightly less. Parking is at the door of our suite in the Floyd Road professional plaza.
Care That Spans Generations in Clarkdale
In a neighborhood like Clarkdale, family dentistry often means literal multi-generational care: grandparents, parents, and grandchildren coming through the same office. Our patient base reflects that pattern.
Young Children
First dental visits, sealants on six-year molars, fluoride applications, and gentle introductions to brushing technique. We aim to make the first visit a positive memory so future appointments do not carry any baggage.
School-Age and Teens
Sports mouth guards for kids playing at Lindley Middle or Pebblebrook High, orthodontic consultations when permanent teeth start crowding, and routine cleanings on a schedule that fits the school year.
Adults
Cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, periodontal therapy, cosmetic work, and the occasional emergency from a chipped tooth or a lost filling. Most adults in their thirties and forties are juggling kids' appointments and their own; we schedule families together when it helps.
Older Adults
Many older Clarkdale residents have decades-old dental work that is starting to need attention: crowns reaching the end of their life, missing teeth that have shifted, or dentures that no longer fit well. Single implants and implant-supported dentures often restore function that has been lost for years. Dr. Rainford will walk you through what is possible and what your real options are at each price point.
Beyond Cleanings: What We Handle Under One Roof
- Preventive: cleanings, exams, x-rays, oral cancer screenings using VELscope
- Restorative: tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals
- Cosmetic: whitening, veneers, bonding, full smile makeovers
- Tooth replacement: single implants, implant-supported dentures, traditional dentures, All-on-4
- Emergency: same-day appointments for pain, broken teeth, and infections
- Specialty: TMJ therapy, night guards, sedation for anxious patients
Patients who would otherwise be sent to three different offices for a crown, an implant, and a cleaning can handle everything here, which matters most when transportation or scheduling is the obstacle.
Insurance, Financing, and the Friends & Family Membership
Three ways to pay for your family's dental care, so the right fit exists whether you have PPO coverage, no insurance, or a treatment plan that runs into thousands.
In-Network with Most Major PPO Plans
Vibrant Smiles is in-network with most major PPO dental plans and files claims directly on your behalf. For many patients, that means a healthy-mouth cleaning visit costs $0 out of pocket. Call (678) 810-1100 with your card before your first visit for a complimentary benefits check so you know what is covered and what your share of cost will be.
Friends & Family Membership Plan (No Insurance Needed)
If you do not have dental insurance, the Friends & Family Membership Plan is built for you. It runs for 12 months from the date you join and includes:
- Cleanings, exams, and routine x-rays at no additional cost
- Exclusive savings on procedures such as fillings
- Benefits that start immediately
- No deductibles, no waiting periods, no annual maximums, no claim denials, no pre-approvals
Many longtime Clarkdale residents use the plan in place of standalone dental insurance, especially retirees not yet on a Medicare Advantage dental plan. Call (678) 810-1100 for current membership rates.
CareCredit Healthcare Financing
For larger treatment plans (full-mouth restorations, multiple implants, full smile makeovers), CareCredit lets you spread the cost over fixed monthly payments. Interest-free promotional terms are available, subject to approval. The front desk handles the CareCredit application and walks you through what your monthly cost will be before any work begins.
Out-of-Pocket Payments
We accept cash, debit cards, and all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

What Clarkdale Patients Should Know Before Booking
Frequently Asked Questions
How far is the office from the Clarkdale Historic District?
About fifteen minutes east, via Austell Powder Springs Rd to Floyd Rd SW. Parking is at the door.
Do you accept Medicare Advantage dental coverage?
Many Medicare Advantage plans include dental coverage and we accept several of them. Call (678) 810-1100 with your plan details and the front desk will verify benefits.
Do you have evening hours?
Yes. Wednesdays we are open until 7 p.m., Mondays and Thursdays until 5:30, Tuesdays until 5. The Wednesday evening slot is the most popular for working patients.
Can the whole family be scheduled on the same day?
Yes, and we encourage it. Tell the front desk who is coming and they will block back-to-back slots so you make one trip instead of three.
What if I have not seen a dentist in years?
That is more common than people think and there is no judgment. The first visit is a thorough exam and a conversation about where to start. You leave with a plan, not a lecture.
