Your Local Mableton Dentist for Routine and Periodontal Cleanings
Vibrant Smiles Family & Cosmetic Dentistry has served Mableton residents for over 15 years from our office at 5015 Floyd Rd SW, just off the East-West Connector. Dr. Chea Rainford and his hygiene team perform routine prophylaxis cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and pediatric cleanings, with same-day openings often available for patients who haven't been seen recently.
We are in-network with most major PPO insurance plans, which means if your plan covers preventive care at 100 percent, your six-month cleaning could cost nothing out of pocket. We file your claims and follow up with insurers so you don't have to.
Why Mableton Families Choose Vibrant Smiles
15+ Years Serving Mableton and West Cobb
Dr. Rainford has practiced dentistry in Georgia for more than 15 years and has built his practice in Mableton. He and his team know the community: the families whose kids are now patients after first coming in as toddlers, the working professionals who can only fit in evening appointments, the seniors who need extra time and patience. That continuity matters for preventive care, where the same hygienist tracking your gum health year over year catches problems earlier.
Evening and Extended Hours for Working Patients
We are open until 7 pm on Wednesdays specifically for patients who can't take time off during the day. Our other weekday hours run from 8 or 9 am to 5 or 5:30 pm. This isn't a corporate chain schedule built around volume — it's a practice schedule built so you can actually get in.
In-Network with Most Major PPO Plans
We file your insurance claims, follow up on delayed payments, and provide written diagnostic reports if your insurer asks for them. We submit electronically for faster processing. If your benefits aren't clear, call (678) 810-1100 for a complimentary benefits review before your appointment.
What a Cleaning Visit at Vibrant Smiles Looks Like
Routine Cleanings (Prophylaxis)
A routine cleaning takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Your hygienist starts with a health update and an intraoral camera scan so you can see exactly what we see on the screen. We measure gum pocket depths to catch early gum disease, take digital X-rays if you are due, and perform a visual oral cancer screen. Then comes the cleaning itself: ultrasonic scaling to break up tartar, fine hand instruments to clean below the gumline, polishing for surface stains, and fluoride if you are at higher cavity risk. Dr. Rainford reviews everything before you leave.
Periodontal Maintenance and Deep Cleanings
If gum measurements show early or moderate gum disease, a deeper cleaning — called scaling and root planing — removes buildup below the gumline where pockets have formed. We use the STA Single Tooth Anesthesia System for precise, comfortable numbing when needed. Periodontal maintenance afterward typically runs on a three to four month cycle rather than the standard six months, because the bacteria responsible for gum disease repopulate quickly. We will only recommend a deep cleaning if your pocket measurements warrant it.
Cleanings for Children
Kids come in starting around age one or two for a quick first visit, mostly to get comfortable. By the time their molars come in, we add sealants for cavity prevention. Booking parents and children in the same morning is one of the most common scheduling requests we handle — just let the front desk know.
Meet Dr. Chea Rainford, DMD

Dr. Rainford earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from The Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, and his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of West Georgia. His post-graduate training spans four specialty areas: prosthodontics, orthodontics, periodontics, and endodontics — meaning the dentist overseeing your cleaning today is also trained to handle the more complex work, should you ever need a crown, an implant, or root canal therapy.
He holds Fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI), which is awarded based on continuing education hours, case experience, and peer review. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the North Georgia Dental Society, the Hinman Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. He is BLS certified and a lifetime member of both the Medical College of Georgia Alumni Association and the American Orthodontic Society.
Outside the office, Dr. Rainford lives in the area with his wife and daughter, follows the Falcons and the Braves, and plays soccer and cricket — sports he competed in through middle and high school.
