Serving the West Cobb Communities from Our Mableton Office
Vibrant Smiles Family & Cosmetic Dentistry serves patients across West Cobb County from our Mableton office at 5015 Floyd Rd SW. Dr. Chea Rainford has practiced in Georgia for more than 15 years and his team handles routine cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and pediatric visits. We are in-network with most major PPO insurance plans.
West Cobb is geographically large — patients drive in from Lost Mountain, Powder Springs, Hiram, Dallas, parts of Marietta, and Acworth. Drive times range from about 15 minutes for the closer communities to 35 or 40 minutes from the more distant edges. Same-day appointments are often available for dental pain, and Wednesday evening hours go until 7 pm.
What to Expect at Your Cleaning Visit
A routine cleaning takes about 45 minutes to an hour. We start with a health update and an intraoral camera scan so you can see what we see. Your hygienist measures gum pocket depths to check for early gum disease, takes digital X-rays if you are due, and performs an oral cancer screening. The cleaning itself uses ultrasonic scaling for tartar, hand instruments for below the gumline, polishing for surface stains, and fluoride if you are at higher cavity risk.
Dr. Rainford reviews your X-rays and the hygienist's findings before you leave. If anything needs follow-up, you get a written treatment plan with costs included before any work is scheduled.
For sensitive teeth, ask for desensitizing gel before scaling begins. For dental anxiety, ask about sedation options when you book.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far is the drive from West Cobb?
Depends on which part. Lost Mountain and Powder Springs run about 20 to 25 minutes. Hiram and Dallas run 30 to 40 minutes. West Marietta and Acworth run 25 to 35 minutes.
Which West Cobb communities do you serve?
Patients come to us from Lost Mountain, Powder Springs, Hiram, Dallas, west Marietta, Acworth, Kennesaw, and the surrounding unincorporated areas. If you live in West Cobb and the drive makes sense for you, we are happy to see you.
Do you accept my PPO insurance?
We are in-network with most major PPO carriers. Call (678) 810-1100 with your member ID and we will verify coverage before your visit. If you have a less common plan, we can often still file claims out-of-network.
How often should I get a cleaning?
The ADA recommends a professional cleaning at least every six months for most adults. Patients with a history of gum disease, smokers, pregnant patients, and those on certain medications may need cleanings every three to four months. Your schedule is based on your actual gum measurements, not a default rule.
Can you see my whole family together?
Yes. Back-to-back family appointments are one of the most common requests we handle. Tell the front desk how many people are coming and their ages when you call so we can sequence the visits efficiently.
What if I have dental anxiety?
Tell us when you book. We offer desensitizing gel, localized anesthesia, and sedation dentistry options for patients with significant anxiety. Dr. Rainford will go through what makes sense given your medical history before any sedation is used.
