Custom porcelain veneers from a Mableton cosmetic dentist who treats Smyrna patients regularly. Most cases finish in two visits. About 13 to 18 minutes from central Smyrna via South Cobb Drive.
Porcelain or composite veneers, and which one fits you
Both materials work well in the right hands, but they suit different patients. Porcelain is lab-made, reflects light like natural enamel, resists staining, and lasts about 10 to 15 years. It costs more upfront and is placed across two visits. Composite is sculpted directly onto the tooth in one appointment, costs less, and is reversible, but it stains over time and typically gets replaced every 5 to 7 years.
Smyrna patients in their thirties through fifties who want the result to hold up across a decade-plus of professional and personal photographs almost always choose porcelain. Composite is a strong fit for younger patients or for single-tooth fixes.
Are you a good candidate?
Veneers do their best work when:
- Your teeth and gums are basically healthy (we treat anything active first)
- Enough enamel is present for a clean bond
- You are not a heavy grinder, or you are willing to wear a nightguard
- You have a clear sense of what you want your smile to look like
If active decay or gum disease is in play, those have to be handled first. We screen during the consultation. If veneers are not right for your case, we say so.

Veneers FAQs from Smyrna patients
How long does the drive from Smyrna take?
Most Smyrna patients reach our Floyd Road office in 13 to 18 minutes, traffic depending. South Cobb Drive is the most direct route from central Smyrna and Atlanta Road; from the Vinings-adjacent corner, the East-West Connector or I-285 are usually faster.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
Porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years with regular checkups, good home hygiene, and a nightguard if you grind. Some patients keep theirs longer.
Will my Smyrna dentist's records transfer?
Yes. Bring your most recent x-rays and treatment notes if you have them, or sign a release at your first visit and we will request them from your previous office.
Are veneers permanent?
Porcelain veneers are considered a permanent cosmetic procedure because a thin layer of enamel is removed to bond the veneer in place. The veneer itself can be replaced when it eventually wears out, but the original enamel cannot be restored.
Do veneers damage natural teeth?
When done properly, no. Modern preparation removes about 0.5 mm of enamel, the tooth underneath stays intact, and the veneer protects it. The risk comes from poor preparation, poor bonding, or untreated decay or gum disease, which is why screening matters.
Can I do veneers around a wedding or major event?
Yes, and a fair number of our Smyrna patients plan their case that way. The temporary veneers worn between the prep visit and the placement visit look natural enough that you can attend events in them without anyone noticing. We schedule the placement appointment to land before your event so you walk in with the final smile.
How much do veneers cost in Smyrna?
Cost depends on how many teeth are treated, material choice, and any prep work needed first. The consultation produces a written treatment plan with full pricing and walks you through insurance coverage, the Friends & Family Membership Plan, and CareCredit options. No obligation.
